Adventures of house hunting

I know from the few times I tried to find a place to live in America, that house hunting in any country is not fun. But I have to say, that in Beirut, it is an adventure! Going to little to stores, random people walking down the street and just asking "Know of any houses to rent in the neighborhood?" and then watching them stop everything they are doing, serve me coffee and talk about the neighborhood, what houses are available and my life, why I want to live there, etc etc. Every house/ shop is different, but they always offer me coffee and open up their space for the random girl that asked something of them. Gotta love Beirut!
