power outages I had someone tell me that “Beirut is like a 3rd world country trying to be cosmopolitan” and I was offended. I mean, we are cosmopolitan. Beirut isn’t 3rd world! But as I am sitting in starbucks and the power just went off (again) and the internet is so slow that you can play a [...]![]() The Marina- Zeituna Bay I feel like I should keep the new restaurants and cafes that just opened near the marina a secret….because it is kind of nice down there right now with just a few people around (and in a few weeks, everyone will have discovered it and it will be packed!) But right now it is the best little [...]![]() walking across the street was an old man (60 or 70 years old). He was pushing a grocery cart (we were no where near a grocery store) that had a few things scattered inside of it. He was walking past the policeman that was directing traffic (a normal occurrence at all major intersections because people are just now getting the hang [...]![]() back in Beirut, again! So, after a wild goose chase of the last few months (return to Beirut, find a place to stay, return to the US because of my grandmother’s death, helping my parents move, Christmas, return to Beirut, computer crash and identity stolen) I have returned to a some what normal existence (I feel weird saying this [...]![]() |
