Long Love

By: Katy Gilbert[/cs_text][x_gap size=”50px”][x_line][cs_text id=”” class=”” style=”” text_align=”center-text”]Sandy shares the love story of the man she is now engaged to in an interview with Katy. Sandy and her fiancé are from the same village situated outside of Beirut. One day when Sandy was out with her cousins, her now fiancé saw her and wanted to talk to Sandy. Sandy recalls she was only twelve years old, and he was twenty years old. She remembers, “I didn’t want to talk with him; I didn’t want to know him.” She had no interest in getting to know him or falling in love with this man who was interested in getting to know her. However, a year later things would change. His consistent perusal of Sandy finally payed off and they started to talk to each other, and get to know one another. Sandy’s parents wouldn’t approve of this relationship at the time, so she had to keep their relationship a secret. She did this by having a secret cell phone she would talk to him with. Actually, for six months they didn’t see each other and only spoke over the phone. Her cousins would also help them arrange to see each other when they would go out. When Sandy turned eighteen and went off to university, she was able to see her now fiancé more and spend more time with him. Her parents would finally accept their relationship and their families would come to know each other. This love story unfolded over an eight year time period, and now they will be getting married in the village they are both from. What a sweet story of a persistent pursuit of love[/cs_text][/cs_column][/cs_row][/cs_section]
