Music greets and confronts us throughout day-to-day life in a plethora of environments and circumstances. Ayça (ī-cha), of Izmir, Turkey, has been singing since she was a young girl and especially enjoys choral singing. Being in a choir, with the close-knit community and opportunity for artistic expression it affords, helps this practicing lawyer escape the daily stresses of life and further explore and enjoy the cultural diversity of the seaside city of Izmir. Listen as Ayça shares how her local choir encourages and promotes diversity, unity, and joy in the city she loves.[/cs_text][x_audio_player src=”http://traffic.libsyn.com/storiesofmycity/176_TheJoyOfSinging_Libsyn.mp3″ advanced_controls=”true” preload=”none” autoplay=”false” loop=”false”][x_feature_box title=”Learn more about the Karşıyaka Municipality Polyphonic Choir @” title_color=”” text_color=”” graphic=”icon” graphic_size=”50px” graphic_shape=”circle” graphic_color=”#ffffff” graphic_bg_color=”hsl(32, 58%, 67%)” align_h=”center” align_v=”top” side_graphic_spacing=”20px” max_width=”none” graphic_icon=”music”]www.facebook.com[/x_feature_box][x_line style=”border-top-width: 1px;”][x_gap size=”50px”][x_button type=”transparent” size=”small” block=”false” circle=”false” icon_only=”false” href=”https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/stories-of-our-city/id309037929?mt=2″ title=”” target=”blank” info=”none” info_place=”top” info_trigger=”hover” info_content=”” style=”position: relative;left: 50%;margin-right: -50%;transform: translate(-50%, -50%);”]SUBSCRIBE TO OUR PODCAST[/x_button][cs_text class=”cs-ta-center”]© 2018 Stories of Our City[/cs_text][/cs_column][/cs_row][/cs_section][/cs_content]
